Blown-In Insulation · Sioux Falls, SD
Blown-in insulation — the fastest way to bring an older Sioux Falls home up to today’s R-value.
Cellulose or fiberglass, machine-blown into attics and closed wall cavities. It’s the most common upgrade we do for homes built before current insulation codes, usually finished in a day.
What blown-in insulation is good for
- Topping off an attic that’s settled or was under-insulated when the house was built
- Filling closed exterior wall cavities in older homes without opening up drywall
- Covering irregular attic framing and around obstructions faster than batt allows
- Adding sound-dampening between floors or between a garage and living space
Cellulose or fiberglass?
Cellulose is treated, recycled paper fiber — it settles into gaps well and has a strong fire rating from the treatment. Blown fiberglass doesn’t settle as much over time and handles damp conditions a little better. Most Sioux Falls attic jobs work fine with either; we’ll recommend one based on your attic’s current insulation, venting, and what’s already up there.
